The III Latin American Congress of Cities and Local Governments “EXPERIENCIAMERICA The Social Inclusion and Cooperation: A Fair for Local Solutions”, is a magnificent opportunity to constitute a platform for generating knowledge, in which cooperation strategies that will contribute toward the positioning of Local Governments shall be identified, within the national and international fields of the region. New approaches on different subjects shall be presented in this encounter, successful experiences developed in Latin American and the Caribbean shall be shared, whose reflection shall serve as a contribution to boost local efforts and invite the Municipalities to implement thereof in the Latin America Municipal Agenda, within the framework a society boosting knowledge and information. This is an opportunity for Strengthening the Latin America Federation of Cities, Municipalities and Associations FLACMA, as a regional organization that integrates in a unitary and equitable manner, the interest and purposes and different sub-regional and National blocks of the Municipalities. This Congress constitutes a space for discussing important issues that are outlining the future of the Local Governments of Latin America, such as: local democracy, citizens’ participation, transparency, electronic government, governability, equity, competitiveness for the territorial economic development, urban poverty, environmental sustainability, decentralization and local autonomy. We shall have the presence of excellent speakers, interesting conferences, round tables that will facilitate the exchange between political-administrative practices and the academic and institutional knowledge. The following persons shall participate in the Congress: Mayors and authorities of Local Governments, institutions and persons interested in the local development, whishing to strengthen cooperation links and learning about new trends in the local development management. The subjects that shall be discussed in this III Congress shall count with the participation of excellent speakers, who shall participate in round tables with the objective of promoting the exchange between political-administrative practices and the academic and institutional knowledge.
